Ceramic coating applied to vehicle paintwork – long-lasting protection and gloss

What Is Included

A ceramic coating – also known as a nano coating – is a liquid polymer coating based on silicon dioxide (SiO₂) that chemically bonds with your vehicle's paintwork. Unlike conventional waxes or spray sealants, it forms a permanent, rock-hard protective layer that shields the paint from external influences for years.

The coating creates an extremely smooth, hydrophobic surface: water beads up into droplets and carries dirt particles away with it – the so-called lotus effect. Your vehicle stays cleaner for longer, is far easier to wash and retains its deep gloss significantly longer than with conventional care products.

For vehicles exposed to the harsh Tirolean alpine climate – intense UV at altitude, aggressive road salt in winter, gravel tracks and extreme temperature swings between sunny valleys and snow-covered passes – a ceramic coating provides exactly the protection your paintwork needs. The UV-resistant layer prevents fading, the chemical resistance guards against salt corrosion, and the hydrophobic properties ensure that dirt and moisture cannot cling to the surface.

  • Long-term protection for 2–5 years depending on product
  • Extreme hydrophobic effect (lotus effect)
  • UV protection against paint fading and oxidation
  • Chemical resistance against bird droppings, insects and tree sap
  • Scratch resistance with 9H hardness rating
  • Deep, brilliant gloss and colour intensification
  • Significantly easier vehicle cleaning
  • Value preservation and resale value protection

The Process

A ceramic coating is only as good as the preparation of the surface beneath it. Our multi-stage process ensures your paintwork is perfectly prepared and the coating bonds optimally.

2

Aftercare Tips

To ensure your ceramic coating lasts as long as possible and provides optimal protection, please follow these care guidelines:

  • No automated car washes – gentle hand wash only
  • Remove bird droppings and insect residue promptly
  • Annual refresh with specialist booster products recommended

Ceramic coating or wax: the difference

Wax and classic polymer sealants look great when freshly applied, but they last only a few weeks to months. A ceramic coating bonds firmly with the clear coat and forms a hard, smooth protective layer. Water beads off, dirt sticks less, road salt and UV radiation attack the paint less, and the colour looks deeper. The prerequisite is properly prepared paint: that is why a ceramic coating with us always includes a thorough exterior clean, paint decontamination and, depending on the condition, polishing.

How to care for your car after the coating

A ceramic coating does not make the car dirt-repellent forever, but it makes maintenance much easier. In the first days after application the vehicle should stay dry and not be washed so the layer cures completely. After that, a gentle hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo is usually enough; it is best to avoid brush car washes and aggressive cleaners. Remove bird droppings and insects promptly so nothing bakes in. How long the coating lasts depends on the product, the care and the use; we advise you individually and quote the price after a short assessment of your paint.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a ceramic coating last?

A professionally applied ceramic coating lasts between 2 and 5 years depending on the product and care. Durability depends on factors such as parking situation (garage vs. outdoor), washing habits and weather conditions. We use only premium products with proven long-term performance and advise you on optimal aftercare.

Does the paint need to be polished before ceramic coating?

Yes – thorough paint correction before coating is essential and is always part of our package. The ceramic layer preserves the current paint condition, so any existing scratches and swirls would be sealed in and could not be corrected afterwards. That is why we polish the paintwork to a high gloss before every coating, ensuring you receive a perfect end result.

How much does ceramic coating cost in Tirol?

The price for a ceramic coating is bespoke and depends on vehicle size, paint condition and chosen coating product. Since thorough paint correction is usually required beforehand, we prepare a tailored quote after a personal inspection. Contact us for a no-obligation consultation.

Does a ceramic coating replace car washing?

No – your vehicle still needs regular washing even with a ceramic coating. However, cleaning becomes significantly easier and quicker: dirt and water bead off the hydrophobic surface, so a gentle hand wash with pH-neutral shampoo is usually all that is needed. You should avoid aggressive cleaning agents and automated car washes to preserve the coating.
